About Firvalley

As an award winning producer, Maria has enjoyed much success in producing a wide range of genres, from documentary to reality formats including hidden camera and big budget competition formats. Prior to co-founding Firvalley, Maria produced acclaimed programming for CBC, CTV, Global and Comedy Network. She has a strong financial background that includes feature film production and as a partner in a theatrical distribution company. Launching Firvalley as a boutique media company she successfully delivered a high volume of programming for: FOOD Network, HGTV, Slice, TVtropolis and U.S. specialty channels. Maria mostly enjoys interpreting dreams.

As Executive Producer in charge of all things “creative” at Firvalley, Joseph just passed his thirtieth year in the industry. His career began in 1983 as an assistant film editor on CTV’s “The Last Frontier”, and he has since been an award-winning, feature-length documentary filmmaker (“Blast’em”, “The Last Round: Chuvalo vs. Ali”); television writer/director (“Popstars”, CBC’s “Life & Times”); and producer/creator (“Design Interns”, “At The Table With…”, “Canada’s Handyman Challenge”) among many other titles.  His work has been nominated for a Genie, as well as a number of Gemini’s and Canadian Screen Awards and he is a proud (and founding) member of the Black Stokes Hockey Club.
